About me!
My name is Marina and I am a completely self-taught photographer based in Pavia, in the North of Italy.
I shoot for fun, but, I would like to become my job. Some of my images can be purchased in microstock markets, such as iStockphoto, Fotolia, or Dreamstime.
I learned everything I know reading books, magazines, blogs, or just using my camera every day. I enjoy learning new technologies and tools.
My passion for photography appeared when I turned 10 when I was given my first camera: a Polaroid. A few years later I discovered another passion: travelling.
Over the past few years, cameras have come and gone and my equipment has changed but I have been combining these two passions of mine.
I travel when I have holidays and when my pocket permits me to.
Most of my photos are taken during holidays. I am fascinated by other cultures, faces, customs and ways of life. I like to capture natural spontaneous moments as well as more controlled images, and I am always willing to listen to advice of everybody.
Every location which I visited offered new subject matter to photograph and these photographs are a personal remembrance of what caught my interest at the time, including post processing techniques.
I use Photoshop, Lightroom, Photomatix, for a workflow of colour corrections, further processing and archiving.
I have experience with HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and I realized my personalal web site to showcase my work.
I've also created the website for 'Bed and Breakfast Ca' di Croso' in La Spezia.
I thought a website would be a good way to display some of my photographs, and the main purpose of this website is, of course, to promote my work.
